School has been in session for a little bit now, but it is now, finally, officially fall. By this time your family has probably fallen nicely (or not so nicely) into a routine. Now that the temperatures are cooling off, it's the perfect time to get in as many outside activities as you can before winter rolls into town.
1. Fall Sports
Soccer, football, fall baseball, fall sports are in season. If your little ones are doing any fall activities, this is a great chance to share something with them go watch practices and games. Bring a blanket and a thermos of coco or cider and watch them play.
2. Walk to the park
This is a great after school or after dinner activity. Go for a walk to unwind from the day, and help them get out a little more energy before heading inside as the days grow shorter. If there is a park in walking distance head over there and stop to play. Leave your phone off, and try to use this time to disconnect from your day at work, and transition to family time.
3. Go to the apple orchard
Looking for something to do outside the house on a sunny fall weekend? Find a local apple orchard and make a day of it. The kids will have a blast running around picking apples, and when you get home you can make a variety of fall favorites with all of your apples. In my house cinnamon apple muffins and apple cider are the favorites.
The crisp air and changing colors of fall make it one of my favorite seasons. The days are lovely; and the nights are perfect for popping some corn, and snuggling blankets for a movie night.
